Disclaimers
MyohackerSLP, PLLC
These Disclaimers apply to MyohackerSLP.com (the “Site”) and to all content we publish, including courses, live programs, blog posts, podcast episodes, videos, emails, PDFs, and social media (together, the “Content”). “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to MyohackerSLP, PLLC (the “Company”). By using the Site or the Content, you accept these Disclaimers.
1. Education, Not Treatment
The Company’s founder, Karindy Ong, is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
All Content on this Site, however, is provided in her capacity as an educator and author, not as your or your child’s treating clinician.
Reading, watching, purchasing, or interacting with the Site or the Content (including participating in a course or a live group program) does not establish a speech-language-pathologist–patient relationship, a therapist–patient relationship, or any other provider–patient relationship between you (or your child) and the Company, Karindy Ong, or anyone else involved in producing the Content. This is true even where Content addresses a specific condition or concern, and regardless of any professional license the presenter holds.
The Content is general education. It is not medical, dental, psychological, or speech-language diagnosis, treatment, or therapy, and it is not a substitute for an individualized evaluation or care from licensed professionals who personally know you and your child.
2. This Site Also Describes Karindy’s Clinical Practice
Separately from the Site’s educational content, Karindy provides clinical services (in-person evaluation and treatment, and virtual consultations) through her clinical practice (see the Services page). Those services are different from everything else on this Site:
- Requesting an appointment does not make you a patient. Submitting the contact form or requesting a service does not itself create a provider–patient relationship. That relationship begins only if and when you engage the clinical practice and complete its own intake and consent process, and it is governed by the practice’s own agreements and privacy practices, not by these Disclaimers or the Site’s terms.
- If you or your child are (or become) her patients, the Site’s content and courses are still general education: they are not part of your or your child’s treatment plan, and nothing on this Site alters, limits, or replaces your treatment relationship or the practice’s clinical documents. Section 1 describes the Site; it does not deny or disclaim a treatment relationship you actually have with the practice.
- Financial interest, disclosed. Karindy owns the Company and has a financial interest in the courses and programs sold on this Site, including when she mentions them to patients of her practice.
3. Always Involve Your Own Providers
Always seek the advice of your own qualified healthcare providers with any questions you may have about a medical, dental, or developmental condition affecting you or your child. Never disregard professional medical advice, and never delay seeking it, because of something you have read, watched, or heard on this Site.
If you or your child have been diagnosed with, or if you suspect you or your child may have, any medical condition, developmental disorder, feeding or airway concern, or other health-related concern, discuss your specific circumstances with a licensed professional before applying anything you learn here.
If you think you or your child may have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
4. Exercises Carry Physical Risk
Some Content teaches physical exercises involving the tongue, mouth, face, head, and neck, some using food items. These carry real risks, including gagging, choking, and allergic reaction. Ask your healthcare provider for clearance before starting any at-home exercise program, supervise your child at all times during practice, and stop immediately if anything causes pain, gagging, or distress. Each course’s Terms of Purchase and the safety notes shown alongside the exercises contain the full safety instructions; they are part of how the Content is meant to be used.
5. No Guaranteed Results
We can promise to deliver the education and materials as described, and nothing more. Every person and every child is different. The Company makes no representation that you or your child will achieve any particular outcome from using the Content, and any statement about results is an expression of opinion or an account of an individual experience, not a promise. Testimonials reflect individual experiences; results vary and are not typical.
6. Emerging and Debated Approaches
Some Content, including podcast episodes, blog posts, and live professional programs, discusses complementary, alternative, or emerging wellness approaches whose research base is limited, preliminary, or actively debated in the medical and scientific communities, and whose regulatory status varies. We discuss these topics for awareness, exposure, and critical discussion: so you know what exists, what is claimed about it, and what the current evidence does and does not support. Discussing an approach is not a claim that it is safe or effective for any purpose, an endorsement, a recommendation to use it, or instruction in how to perform it. Statements about these approaches have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and the Content is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
If you are a licensed or credentialed professional, the Content is education for your awareness, not clinical training: it does not certify, credential, or authorize you to perform any technique or modality, and any decision to use one in your practice is yours alone, after your own evaluation of the evidence, and subject to your scope of practice, required training and certifications, standards of care, and the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction.
7. Group Programs Are Not Group Therapy
Live group programs (such as cohort coaching calls) are educational events. They are not group therapy, clinical supervision, or healthcare services, and questions are answered as general educational information, not as clinical advice.
8. Products, Recommendations, and Third Parties
We may mention or link to products, services, or practitioners we believe could be useful. These are informational suggestions, not endorsements or prescriptions, and any purchase or engagement is between you and that third party. Some product links are affiliate or partner links (disclosed where they appear), meaning the Company may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We are not responsible for third-party products, services, websites, or their accuracy, and we are not liable for any adverse effects or consequences resulting from your use of them.
9. Accuracy and Personal Responsibility
We work to keep the Content accurate and current, but the Company makes no representation or warranty that any Content is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free, and disclaims liability for any inaccuracy or omission. Decisions you make based on the Content, including whether and how to practice any exercise with your child, are your own responsibility.
